I’m debating between the two and I was wonder what personal opinions were on them. I haven’t had a chance to really use either one and I was hoping for some advice as to what people like and dislike about them.

Answer by Hanzo Kunosaki Both have their advantages and disadvantages. The kindle has no volume buttons whereas the nook does. The nook has not to many apps whereas the kindle does. If you like to read choose nook if your a media fan kindle. Answer mine?

I will be starting a PhD at University of British Columbia and I would love to have an e-reader I can get textbooks, play scripts, PDF files and web browsing on. Can any of them do all this and still play nice with Canadian WiFi? Which of the e-readers accepts the widest range of file types?

Answer by kitty I would say Kindle is the answer.Wireless is a unique feature I will say and that’s make really value for money. 3G wireless and global coverage, I personally travel a lot and really worthy for me. You can have any newspaper at any place and also they are cheaper. The best selling value for the Kindle is convenience for the travel, it’s pretty handy and easy to carry anywhere with you. The other important thing matters to me are speedy for downloading books and reading material. Also it allow around average size of 1500 books and reading material to store, so is a significant amount of storage space to bring with you. In one line I can say “you are carrying your book shelf with you”. Also one of the other feature of Kindle is it’s E-INK screen technology that don’t glare in any light so no strain to eyes and you can read for hours.
Also you save a lot in compare to the actual books, the books on kindle are really cheaper so I have saved a lot till now. Also there are plenty of books on kindle to choose. Also it has so good features such as Text-To-Speech which is really useful when you get bored or doing some other activity.

I want a kindle. But I don’t have enough money to buy it from scratch so I was thinking about selling my ipod touch 2g for a Kindle 3g. I have a 3ds that plays music, games, and internet. Is it a good idea to sell my ipod. I really like reading books.

Answer by MJ The Kindle runs on Android, and the iPad runs on ios. The difference between those 2 (if you don’t know) is that Android is a little bit harder to use, and there are a lot more apps and games for the iPad, or ios. Also, android has many more ways to customize it. The iPad has a longer battery life than the kindle. While the iPad wasn’t made specifically to be an e-reader, it has the Kindle app, so you can read books on it like you would a Kindle. The Kindle is more specifically made to be an e-reader, so it focuses less on the gaming and speed. The iPad is faster and better if you are going to be playing games or multitasking.
So basically:
If you just want an e-reader- Get a Kindle because its cheaper.
If your going to be playing a few games- Go for a Kindle because it is cheaper and can handle that.
If your going to be playing a lot and better quality games- Go for the iPad.
If you need more functionality- I would say go for the iPad.

+ Go to Amazon.com.
+ Look for a link in the upper righthand corner that’s labeled “Your Digital Items”. Right now it’s directly above the shopping cart icon.
+ In the Kindle section, click on “Manage Your Kindle.” You’ll be prompted to login to your Amazon account. Once you login you’ll see all of the items you’ve downloaded to your PC.
+ Find what want on the Kindle.
+ In the right-most column click the “Actions” button and select “Deliver to my…”
+ In the next window, select your Kindle from the drop-down list.
+ Click on “Deliver.”
The next time you sync the Kindle, the books will be there.

Answer by Rose D It’s a pretty basic cable – USB male A to micro B type. This is found in most computer and electronics stores. Radio Shack or Best Buy should carry them. They’re usually around $ 5 or so.

I see that the latest droids have a kindle app on them by default, and i was thinking about getting someone a kindle reader as well. if you buy a book on the droid kindle app, can you also transfer it to your kindle reader? and vice-versa?

Answer by Matthew You can access your Kindle library on amazon.com from both, so yes you can. Not sure if you will be allowed to have it on both devices at once, but I would think that is possible as it’s no different from having it on your laptop and on your Kindle.
