Asus G73SW Gaming Notebook Review – HotHardware

ASUS
hothardware.com – Whether you need to hammer out a spreadsheet, encode a Blu-ray video, or frag some foes at a LAN party, the G73SW promises to help get the job done. By all means, this is a desktop replacement, but with the addition of Intel’s Sandy Bridge architecture, there’s potential here for battery life to be extended beyond what you would normally expect from a high octane notebook.

Hey man which do you think is better, I have enough money to pick either one of these computers. Which one do you think is better the Asus G73sw or the Alienware M14x?
RacerDelux on September 12, 2011 at 4:31 pm
@ScaryCreekPaintball
Go for the g73, well actually now the g74 is only 1300 at best buy, so go for that. Alianware is not reliable by any means (when compared to Asus). The only thing you really get is the cool keyboard, but truthfully, you will probably have a usb keyboard plugged in anyway.

@Mr2Wii g74sx is a monster and next to a regular 17-inch it looks way bigger. I heard the G53 is also big but it will be smaller than the g74sx obviously.

I got this same laptop (g73sw series) but mine can only go to 1600×1900 res, 1 gb video memory, and a dvd drive instead of blu ray. why is this?

Wait did he say 2 500GB SSD’s ???
That would make this thing expinsive as hell wouldnt it? I would rather go with like a 500/750 gb HDD and maybe a 120/60 gb SSD.

I’m going to get the same model, just with a Intel Core i5-2410M,4gb of ddr3 1333 and a hybrid-hdd 500 gig (with a 4 gig build in SSD) and a max. resolution of 1600 x 900 it’s 17,3 zoll.
price ´940€ I hope that thing won’t disappoint me.
if anyone got a better gaming laptop for the same price contact me please.
DildoOfDaDoom on December 16, 2011 at 3:50 am
@Cyberpirate2
Those are Hybrid SSD’s (confusing name) Hybrid HDD would sound better :P
those special HDD’s have a build in flash storage were often used data can be stored there, but it’s like 4 gigabyte each HDD

@PAVI259
