I am gonna buy a fluke 289 multimeter. I don’t understand what do you mean by burn voltage. Can you please explain to me in detail?

It’s “burden voltage” (not “burn”). He’s talking about the voltage drop across the meter’s internal current shunt, across which the meter makes a voltage measurement, and then computes and displays the current passing through the shunt. At high currents, on non-laboratory meters, the shunt has a significant voltage drop, which can reduce available voltage to the unit under test. It’s just one more spec to watch for when picking a lab or portable multimeter.

I just search the web and figured out what is it. The multimeter act as a series resistor in the circuit and cause a voltage drop across the 2 terminal.
I am surprise to see there is such flaw in the multimeter. I will take note of it next time whenever I do my current measurement.

man i cant believe it…i just wanted to ask u about ur opinion about the HP 3478 and look ta da i found the video review of that mulitmeter. First of all thanks for you reviews, these are helping me alot, cause i really try hard to choose a multimeter that i can afford and i often wondered “does this multimeter measures good enough? Should i pay more to buy a newer one?” oh boy
sometimes i became sick of searching on ebay, but now i will buy this multimeter

Good video.
One drawback to the HP-3478A is that the calibration is held on a static RAM chip, with battery backup. When that battery eventually dies, you will have an uncalibrated box. The battery is soldered in, so you will have to unsolder to replace the battery with the instrument turned on, to preserve the calibration data. I guess a butane powered soldering iron is called for here.

it might seem trivial, but having a background is a real big improvement I think, I’m not sure why but I was more attentive during the whole video compare to the office background
