I was brushing my dog and sitting on a cooler. When i reached for the brush, which was on top of another cooler, it fell in and got wet from about five inches of melted ice. Well 10-15 minutes later, after my dog was brushed, I couldn’t find my phone. SCREAMING bloody murder, I ran around the house and sure enough, my iPhone 3GS was sitting at the bottom of the cooler with water in it.
(Extra Info: I just replaced my iPhone about a month ago because my dad destroyed it trying to fix the cracked screen. Criticize me for my neglect, I’ve heard it ALL before…)
I dried the outside and it worked fine, no problems. But my mom took out the SIM, turned it off, the two screws at the bottom, and she couldn’t open the phone without a suction cup so we set it in the window in the sun.
WHAT DO I DO NEXT?!?!!!!!!! I eagerly tried it just now and it worked fine except…the home button didn’t work. I immediately turned it back off and put it back in the window :/
I’m contemplating taking it to an Apple Store, telling them the home button isn’t working and having them replace it since water damage isn’t under warranty :(
Help me please! Any other people done this and come out on top???????????

Your best bet is to buy a cheap bag of rice from the grocery store. Stick your phone in there and wait 1-2 days. The rice will absorb the moisture and hopefully restore functionality. It’s easy to tell if a phone has water damage so if they look for it they’ll likely find it. If it comes down to it…..I dunno….flirt with him and hope he’s a lonely nerd =P. Otherwise no bueno.

Go to the website below and click the link below the picture of the the iPhone. It should open iTunes and then you’ll be able to download it. You’ll just have to sync it to the phone afterwords.

with or with out a case I have no problems with my i4 at all. but according to the internet( so it must be true) any case that covers the sides will work. I have a body glove case and it works well. don’t believe everything you read!!!!!!!!!
